Home Maintenance and Repair

Maintenance Matters

Maintaining your Dehumidifier:
  • For more information on how a dehumidifier works, watch this video which also discusses appliance repair and includes troubleshooting tips.
  • This video provides instructions on how to take apart and clean a dehumidifier.
Possible problems with a non-functioning dehumidifier:
  1. The drain water backed up into the bucket and filled it up.
  2. The filter got too dirty.
  3. There is no electricity reaching the unit (which you can attempt to resolve by resetting the GFCI switch on the outlet.)

Ultimately, you may need to purchase a new dehumidifier.
