This unique 5K takes runners and walkers through an actual Habitat for Humanity neighborhood, past more than 80 houses that Habitat has built, remodeled or repaired in the Boston-Thurmond neighborhood. Prizes are hand made by Habitat volunteers, and Habitat homeowners themselves volunteer, participate, and cheer on the participants.
This annual event, which was created in partnership with Lowe’s and is held during the week leading up to Mother’s Day, is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women.
