Substance Use/Misuse

Description: This session will define substance abuse, including overuse or misuse of any substance beyond its intended use, risk factors, stages of addiction, barriers to treatment, and medical complications. It will also discuss elder abuse/misuse of common substances and possible reasons why the use/abuse occurs. Facilitated by the Geriatric Adult Mental Health Specialty Team from Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc.
Audience: Staff or the community at large.
