While spring cleaning is probably on the minds of many at this time of year, it can often be a daunting thought to figure out exactly where to start and how to move through it. With this in mind, Habitat for Humanity has created a handy dandy Declutter Checklist to help break down the spring cleaning process into manageable pieces.

This list is sure to help your living space become the organized oasis you have always dreamed of by the time summer rolls around.

As you go through each room, keep in mind that anything that doesn’t fit into your life anymore can potentially find a second life and help those in our community.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are a great place to donate your new and gently used home furnishings and also help your local Habitat for Humanity build homes, communities, and hope in your community. We even accept kitchen cabinets and mattresses-don’t worry they are cleaned and sanitized before hitting our sales floor.

Other nonprofits in our area are great places to donate items that the Habitat ReStores may not take clothing (Goodwill Industries of NWNC) and food items (Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC).

Are you on the hunt for solutions to help achieve peek organization? Make sure you check out our local ReStores to see what we might have in stock to help you organize your newly cleaned space. You can choose from items made to organize or find an ordinary home furnishing and repurpose it into a spectacular addition to your home. Check out fun ideas on how you can upcycle items commonly found at the ReStores.
